COSMETIC TATTOOING TECHNIQUE
Cosmetic tattooing, also known as permanent makeup or micropigmentation, is the precise and considered process of implanting carefully matched pigments of color beneath the surface of the skin. A very small needle is used to create the appearance of fine hair strokes or a soft powdered effect for the brows, or to apply pigment to create soft, candied lips, which gives definition
to natural features.
While cosmetic tattooing is considered semi-permanent makeup, it’s important to know that any tattoo has the potential to be permanent. This is why Her Velvet Hand uses only a digital cosmetic device for all procedures — also known as the Nano technique — rather than traditional tattoo machines, and uses quality organic and non organic pigment blends instead of the most common tattoo ink. These special tools and pigments are designed to enhance natural shape and color without appearing abrupt or unnatural, and allow fading over time. This is an important and unique approach to cosmetic tattooing because it allows each client to make adjustments as natural coloration or skin changes occur, and when what is in vogue evolves.
Her Velvet Hand’s approach to cosmetic tattoo artistry is to create transformations through subtle enhancements, and careful shaping and shading, to bring out each clients’ innate beauty. Cosmetic tattooing is ideal for anyone seeking a low-maintenance, polished appearance that brings forth their features in a naturally appearing way. This technique can help to restore the appearance of full eyebrows that have been over-tweezed or hair loss due to alopecia, chemotherapy or other factors, and to bring pigment to lightly colored lips.
NANO BROW TECHNIQUE
A technique used globally, digital nano tattooing allows cosmetic tattoo artists to gently replicate authentic-appearing hair strands by injecting microdots of pigment into the skin. This technique uses extremely small needles ranging from .25mm to .35mm which is minimally invasive to gentle facial skin. With traditional microblading, the tool is made up of stiff needles that cut the skin and brow area in hair-like patterns and place pigment into the long slits. Over time the excessive cuts through continuous touch-ups leave the skin compromised, and with excessive and permanent scar tissue.

NANO BROW
Nano Brows are a versatile cosmetic tattoo method that offers a natural aesthetic, closely mimicking the appearance of real eyebrows. This technique uses an ultra-fine needle to create precise, hair-like strokes that blend seamlessly with the natural brow hairs, resulting in a soft and realistic look.
Nano Brows are highly adaptable, capable of achieving various styles to suit individual preferences. For clients seeking a natural enhancement, the hair-like strokes can be used to fill sparse areas, creating fuller, well-defined brows without looking overly done. For those desiring a more makeup-like effect, Nano Brows can also provide a shaded appearance, resembling the soft, filled-in look of brow makeup. Additionally, the technique can combine both hair strokes and shading, offering the perfect balance between natural and polished.
This versatility makes Nano Brows an excellent choice for clients wanting to enhance their brows subtly or more dramatically, all while maintaining a natural appearance that evolves beautifully over time.

Please Note: A Color Refresher appointment cannot be performed any sooner than 12 months following the last procedure. This is to ensure the quality of your results and the integrity of your skin. Any existing work MUST be lightened a minimum of 65% or more in order to avoid over-saturation of color, overworking the skin and for your results to stay as aesthetically natural as possible.
Lip Blush
Using a digital machine similar to the one used to create Nano Brows, the Lip Blush process implants color into the lips to create a soft, candied look. The procedure gives the appearance of a fuller lip while also gently brightening and enhancing its natural color. There are no edges, borders or harsh lines, which create a beautifully subtle and enhanced lip.
Lip Blush is a semi-permanent treatment that requires touch-ups every 1-3 years depending on your individual skin.
